Art Direction

Art Direction with Vision and Purpose

I work equally well as part of a team or independently — in agencies, in-house departments, or as design lead. Through projects across many different industries, I've built a broad visual repertoire that I draw on depending on what each project needs.

There are two sides to my role as an Art Director:

Creative Execution – I design and create with my own visual signature. The work should function not only aesthetically, but also carry cultural and commercial relevance. My goal: visual solutions that feel fresh and fit the project.

Concept & Brand Thinking – Whether print, digital, or motion: I connect design with a clear idea and make sure the message lands.

I can work as avant-garde or as pragmatic as the project requires. Sometimes I lead the creative direction; sometimes I work within existing guidelines. With experience across different industries, I quickly recognize where established designs need a fresh perspective.

Frequently Asked Questions

Art direction is the creative leadership and visual steering of a project — for print, digital, or motion. An art director develops the visual concept, sets design standards, and ensures message and image are aligned. As a freelance art director with an office in Aachen and availability in the Bremen region, I take on this role for agencies, in-house teams, and individual projects.

The right art director understands your industry and how your target audience thinks visually. A brief first conversation about project goals, style, and timeline is the best starting point. Just get in touch — I offer a free initial consultation.

My hourly rate is EUR 100. For project-based pricing, we can discuss individually depending on scope and timeline. Agency rates are available.
